Psalm 104:30
“When you send forth your Spirit,
they are created, and you renew
the face of the ground.”
ESV
If God can renew the face of dirt, he can sure renew us. He’s not only in the business of making things new, but also rewiring and rebooting our lives to accomplish things that we could never even ask, fathom, dream, or imagine. This God who dances in joy over his children (Zephaniah 3:17) and celebrates the poem of our life (Ephesians 2:10), is grounded and founded in pure truth, but clothed in mystery. The mystery is that God loves breathing life into the dead and giving victory to the underdog, but won’t force himself on the hard of heart. He wants us to know him, but we never can put him in a box. And don’t ever try to tame him, he’s beautiful and fierce. His grace and mercy isn’t fair, or we’d all go to hell, but his justice is pure and solid. He forgives us completely and loves us with the hot tears of a lovesick father, just read Luke fifteen.
Abraham, the father of our Faith (Romans 4:16), concluded that his life was best lived when he reckoned his body as dead, but that one drop of faith in God could resurrect and revive his life for an eternity. Are you there yet? I mean at the same conclusion Abraham had in Romans four where he found the end of himself. That the merit of all his efforts and accomplishments paled in the light of one promise uttered from the Almighty; The reality that one word from God could bring life to a barren womb, make a hooker holy, and mold a junkie into a masterpiece. Every day is an opportunity for renewal and creativity for a heart with one thing: Faith in God. He gives grace to the humble (James 4:6 & 1 Peter 5:5-6). Just ask him.
